Boarding Information

VACCINATIONS & HEALTH

All guests must be in good health and up to date on their vaccinations. Pets are checked for fleas and ticks and will be bathed at owner’s expense if there are any signs of them. The required vaccinations are: RABIES 1yr or 3yr, FVRCP 1 yr

We do not require the Feline Leukemia or the HIV vaccinations but we do require that all cats have tested negative. If your cat requires an update to any vaccinations, please do so at least 7-10 days ahead of your scheduled arrival at the kennel if possible.

DIETS

Our feeding schedule is twice daily, however we can accommodate feeding more often if requested. The standard diets at Wags-n-Tails are an assortment of the premium Purina products. We understand with the large number of pet feed manufacturers today your pet may be on a different diet.

We do not recommend a change of diet at the same time as a stay away from your home. Abrupt changes in diet can cause intestinal disruption which we wish to avoid, but some cats have “cast iron” stomachs and they do well on any brand. BUT, in order to avoid any issues we do highly recommend that you avoid any problems by bringing you regular diet for all boarding stays.

BUT, in order to avoid any issues we do highly recommend that you avoid any problems by bringing you regular diet for all boarding stays. Please, pre-bag and mark each bag with your pet’s name and your last name. We do have refrigeration for any wet diets.

Bowls are not necessary as we use stainless steel bowls and dishes. There is no additional charge to feed your own food or special diets.

MEDICATIONS

All medical needs or medications must be disclosed to our staff in advance so that we can provide the best care for your pet. Cats must be in stable health.

FLEAS AND TICKS

We require that all indoor/outdoor cats be on a veterinary prescribed flea preventative such as Advantage, Frontline, etc. Any cat arriving with a parasite infestation will be treated at time of admission which will be charged to your invoice.

BELONGINGS FROM HOME

We encourage you to bring items from home such as toys, treats, beds or blankets. Familiar items and things with familiar scents from home often makes it easier for your cat to settle in with us. We ask that you label all your items with your last name and pet name. We will take every care with your pet’s items but cannot guarantee return of the items that are lost.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Each pet guest has their own individual outdoor – indoor enclosure with a sleeping area on the inside and their outside patio area which they access through a doggie door. The inside area is 16 square feet or 20 square feet while the outside areas are either 4 x16 feet or 5 x 16 feet.

All of the runs are covered with a roof to provide protection from rain, with shade in the summer and a cover from snow in the winter.

During the warmer months the dogs have 24 hour access to the outside areas but in the colder times we close down the doors at night to keep the warm and cozy. Our kennels are heated and air conditioned with the temperatures maintained similar to your own home.
